A Visit from St. Nicholas, Gymnastics Edition

Merry Christmas one and all! I’ll be back soon! 😉



‘Twas the night before Christmas,

when all through the gym

not an athlete was training,

the lights were all dim.

The stockings were hung

from the beams just in case,

St. Nicholas and the reindeer

stopped by the gym space.

Some gymnasts were hopeful

that Santa would leave

some brand new leos;

preferably long sleeve.

While others gymnasts

were becoming reliant

with season so close

he’d leave their kip or a giant.

The coaches just wanted

a couple days off,

and not to come down with

little Susie’s nasty cough.

The owners were hopeful

that Santa would not

land his sleigh on the roof

that was pretty much shot.

And the parents were happy

that for the first time in forever

their children had a weekend

with no activities whatsoever.

I checked messages once more,

enrolled two kids into camp,

hunted down my tennis shoes
